Homework in EYFS

Reading

We read regularly with the children in school, and we encourage you to do the same at home. Children need to read and hear reading regularly to help them become readers.

Reading books support our phonics lessons and learning. Initially children begin with wordless books, encouraging them to talk about the pictures and the story, predicting what they think will happen next and asking and answering questions. They then move onto decodable books - books that contain the phoneme (letter sounds) they have been learning in phonics.

Projects

From time to time we will send home projects and challenges for the children to complete with you at home.
